Giving back across Essex
Spotlight Sound is a family-run business based in Chelmsford, and the communities we work in matter to us. Alongside our event production and installation work, we support local charities, hospitals, schools, and youth groups across Essex throughout the year.
Sometimes that means putting our equipment and skills to use, like providing lighting for a hospital remembrance event. Other times it’s simpler than that: sports kit for a school, toys for a children’s ward, or a food shop for a local charity at Christmas. Here’s some of what we’ve been involved in over the last couple of years.
2026
Maldon Youth Centre
We donated a Nintendo Switch for the youth club, and provided food, drinks and activities for the members’ away day.
2025
Baby Loss Awareness Week at Broomfield Hospital
For the second year running, we provided the lighting for the Baby Loss Awareness Week event held in the hospital gardens, a remembrance evening for families across the area.
Writtle Wanderers RUFC
We were proud to sponsor Writtle Wanderers RUFC, helping to support grassroots sport for local children.
Sir Geoff Hurst Academy
We donated equipment for PE and training sessions, helping young players get more out of every session.
North Avenue Youth Centre
We donated a tent for the youth centre to use on their trips away.
Shared Lives
We provided the prizes for the Shared Lives Summer Craft Competition.
Christmas Jumper Day
The team pulled on their festive knits and took part in Christmas Jumper Day, raising money for Save the Children.
2024
Baby Loss Awareness Week at Broomfield Hospital
We provided the lighting for the Baby Loss Awareness Week event in the hospital gardens, helping to create the right setting for a moving evening of remembrance.
Phoenix Ward, Broomfield Hospital
We donated games and toys from the children’s ward’s Amazon wish list, to help make hospital stays a little easier for young patients and their families.
Farleigh Hospice
We supplied the raffle prizes to a Farleigh Hospice charity hockey game.
The Children’s Society
We donated Primark vouchers to The Children’s Society, so children they support could receive gifts.
CHESS
We carried out a Christmas food shop for CHESS, the Chelmsford-based charity supporting people experiencing homelessness.
