Bower Park Academy wanted to upgrade the sound and projection in its main hall. Working over the summer holidays, we installed a new audio system and a large, high brightness projector, all tested and ready for the start of the new school year.
The Venue
Bower Park Academy is a secondary school in Romford serving around a thousand students. Like most schools, its main hall works hard: assemblies, performances, presentations, exams and community events all pass through the same space, and the sound and projection need to keep up with all of it.
We know the school’s trust well, having previously carried out an installation at Hacton Primary School, part of the same Empower Learning Academy Trust.
The Brief
The existing setup was due an upgrade. The school wanted clear, reliable sound throughout the hall and a projected image big and bright enough for everyone to see, whether that is a screen of slides in an assembly or a video played to a full room.
As with any school project, timing mattered as much as the technology. The work needed to happen over the summer holidays so the hall was back in action, fully tested, before students returned in September.
What We Delivered
We installed a complete new audio system for the hall, designed for clear, even coverage so speech carries to every seat without straining the system.
Alongside it, we installed the new projector. A hall this size needs a physically large, high brightness unit to produce an image that works with the lights on, and a projector of that scale has to be rigged safely and positioned precisely. Our installation team handled the mounting, alignment and integration with the new audio system so everything works together from a simple, straightforward setup.
All of our staff who attend school sites are DBS checked, and the whole installation was completed during the summer break with no disruption to the school.
The Result
The academy started the new school year with a hall that sounds and looks the part: clear audio in every seat, a big, bright image at the front, and a system that staff can operate without a technical background.
