Two Essex Pride festivals in a fortnight. We supplied the staging, sound, lighting and power for Braintree Pride and Basildon Pride Festival, with our technicians on site to keep a full day of performances running at each.
The Events
Braintree Pride took over Braintree & Bocking Public Gardens on 22 August, followed two weeks later by Basildon Pride Festival at Basildon Sporting Village on 5 September. Both are free, family-friendly celebrations that bring their communities together for a full day of performances, from drag acts and tributes to live music and speeches.
Events like these mean a great deal to the people who organise and attend them, and the production has to do them justice: everyone on the field should be able to see the stage and hear every act.

The Brief
Both events run on open park sites, which means everything has to be brought in: the stage itself, the sound system, lighting and the power to run it all. Each festival needed a stage ready for a packed and varied bill, a PA carrying clearly across an outdoor site, and a technician running the day.
A Pride main stage is a busy one. Drag performers, tribute acts, bands, DJs and speakers follow each other all day, each with different technical needs, and the changeovers have to be quick to keep the energy up for the crowd.
What We Delivered
At each event we built the stage, supplied the sound system and lighting, and provided the power distribution to run the site safely. Our technicians managed the stage throughout the day, handling soundchecks, changeovers, microphones and playback so every act stepped up and simply performed.
Outdoor events in late summer also mean planning for the weather, with equipment protected and rigged for the conditions, whatever the day brings.

The Result
Two brilliant community celebrations, each with a full day of performances delivered clearly from the first act to the last. The organisers had one supplier and one point of contact for staging, sound, lighting and power, and the crowds had two great days out.
We are proud to support community festivals and celebrations across Essex, and we know how to make an open field feel like a proper venue. If you are organising an outdoor event, we are happy to help with everything from the stage up.
