Professional staging and audio production for one of Essex’s best-loved community music festivals
Brightlingsea Free Music Festival is a long-running, family-friendly live music event held at Hurst Green in Brightlingsea, Essex. First staged in 2001, the festival has grown from bands performing on a lorry trailer to a two-day event featuring professional staging, sound and lighting and attracting audiences of up to 3,000 people each day.
The 2026 festival took place on 1–2 August, bringing a varied programme of live music to Hurst Green while continuing the festival’s commitment to providing a platform for emerging and established artists.
The Brief
Spotlight Sound was brought in to provide the staging and audio infrastructure required for the festival’s main stage.
The production needed to provide sufficient stage space for the range of acts performing throughout the event, alongside a high-quality PA system capable of delivering clear, consistent sound to the audience.
Our Solution
Our team supplied and installed the complete main-stage staging package, including the front-of-house position and dedicated drum and PA risers.
We also provided the front-of-house PA system, including infill, wedge monitors and all necessary cabling, together with the power infrastructure required for the production.
The result was a professional stage and audio setup designed to give each performing act the space and technical support they needed while delivering clear sound across the audience area.
Delivering the Festival
With multiple performers and the logistics involved in delivering a large outdoor event, careful planning and coordination were essential.
Despite logistical challenges during the build, the Spotlight Sound team successfully delivered the production ready for the festival. The event ran smoothly and the client was pleased with the services provided.
