As part of a refurbishment of its hall, Great Baddow High School asked us to supply and fit new drapes for the stage. A straightforward job, done properly, that transformed the look of the space every student, parent and visitor sees.
The Venue
Great Baddow High School is a large secondary school and sixth form in Chelmsford, with around 1,500 students. Like every school hall, its stage is the backdrop to school life: assemblies, concerts, productions, presentations and awards evenings all play out in front of the same curtains.
The Brief
Stage drapes work harder than most people realise, and they show their age. Faded, tired curtains can make a whole hall feel dated, however good everything else is. As part of a refurbishment, the school wanted the stage brought back up to standard with new drapes, supplied and fitted professionally.
What We Delivered
We supplied and fitted new drapes for the stage, measured and made for the space, hung properly so they sit and draw as they should, and made from modern flame retardant fabric as required for school stages.
It is the kind of job that sounds simple, and in the right hands it is. The work was completed around the school’s schedule with minimal disruption, by staff who are all DBS checked.
The Result
The stage looks sharp again, and the whole hall feels better for it. New drapes frame every event that happens in the space, from the next assembly to the next school production.
Drapes are often just one part of a stage refurbishment. We can look after the whole picture for schools: curtains and tracks, stage lighting, sound systems and screens. If your hall is due some attention, we are happy to take a look and give free, practical advice.
